Let me tell you a little secret… I used to really hate being on video.
I absolutely LOVE to be on a stage. Speaking is one of my favorite professional things that I do. But I’ve always hated “watching myself back” on video. I used to critique myself and think of all the ways I could have said “it” better. I also thought about how much I use my hands or how much I look up whenever I’m thinking of the next thing to say (I still catch myself doing this!!).
I knew that the problem wasn’t really me on video. It was more about my own anxiety of “doing a good job”. Back then I didn’t feel as confident and didn’t think I had the “perfect” answers.
Then something happened… I actually started to look forward to creating videos.
I can’t pinpoint when the shift happened because it was very gradual and nothing drastic. I think it was truly “exposure therapy” in the sense that I did something that felt uncomfortable so many times that my uncomfortable-ness got better each time.
Every time I recorded something I didn’t dread watching it back. When I made a video I happily sent it over to my marketing team to help me get it on my website or out into the world. I started to get excited about the different videos I wanted to make and thought I was pretty confident on camera.
I am REALLY happy the shift happened and I am here today telling you that you can have this shift too!
When marketing to our ideal client, we want that person to be able to get to know us. We want that client to trust us, to like our message, and to want more from us.
Video is a great way to do this and many experts say it’s more effective than just writing a blog post, or creating another post on social media.
You may have seen me more active on Instagram stories lately, and also might have found some videos from me on mt websites Eat With Knowledge and Pursuing Private Practice. This is how I’m showing up on video for all of you!
I also recorded specific training videos for all of you!

Keep in mind that I want you to do the same for your ideal client. Show up for them and connect with them to build that know, like, trust factor in your business. If you’re feeling nervous, remember I was scared too!!
