In this 3-part video series, you will learn:
When you're trying to grow your business, it's easy to back away from your boundaries: Taking on all the clients. Being available at all hours. Being willing to take any price just so you can get another client. Saying “yes” when you really should say “no”. Sound familiar? But that quickly leads to burnout and resentment. Boundaries are 100% necessary for the longevity of you and your business!
Meet your host...
Hi, I'm Jennifer McGurk! I’m a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian, as well as a clinical supervisor and business coach for other dietitians.
When I started my private practice, there were no simple resources. There was no roadmap of what to do. I spent hours on Google, I read business books, and I talked to a few close mentors. When I was finally “ready” to open, I delayed 1 FULL YEAR because I didn’t have my “perfect business name." Was it really about the name? No. Was it anxiety and fear? Yes!
Fast forward to today, I’ve been in private practice for almost 10 years. Getting to make an impact with the clients who need me the most is the best part about private practice. But now, there’s more flexibility with my schedule, control over the work that I do, and I finally am making the money that I deserve, which is pretty amazing!
My private practice has been so successful that I’ve been able to hire other dietitians and build a group private practice, create an online course, start a podcast, and speak at conferences. At the same time, I’ve learned how to set boundaries and create a work/life balance so I can be a present mom to my 2 (soon to be 3!) little kids.
I believe that if you have the passion and drive to help your clients, you can learn the business skills. And that’s what my businesses, Pursuing Private Practice, is all about! Turning your dream of helping clients feel fabulous about food into a thriving business that works for you.
